Learning Goals
Students will be able to identify the roles of kings, nobles, knights, and peasants in the medieval feudal system and explain how land, protection, labor, and loyalty moved between them.
Students will be able to construct a labeled feudal pyramid model that shows how each level of the hierarchy depended on the others.
Students will be able to compare the feudal system to a modern community structure and justify similarities and differences using evidence from the model and class notes.

Feudal System Investigation Notebook
Students record their question, labeled feudal pyramid notes, source or class evidence, and a short written comparison to a modern community. The notebook shows individual understanding of how the feudal system worked and what each level gave and received.
Feudal Pyramid and Community Comparison Poster
Teams create a final poster that visually explains the feudal hierarchy and compares it to a modern community structure. The poster must include revised labels, arrows for exchanges, and a brief team explanation of their shared conclusions and questions.
