✏️ Tessellation Thumbnail Sprint

Using index cards, tracing paper, rulers, and colored pencils, students create four genuinely different thumbnail tessellation directions from their brief rather than minor variations of one idea. A short just-in-time mini-lesson reviews how translation, rotation, reflection, and shape modification affect repeatable patterns and viewer interpretation. Students add short annotation notes under each sketch explaining the trait, visual cue, and what they want viewers to notice first.
