Students will launch the investigation by annotating the California Legal Survival Guide, comparing it with age-of-majority patterns in other countries, and generating evidence-based questions and preliminary claims about how legal adulthood shapes rights, responsibilities, and participation in society.

Students will refine an investigable question about age-of-majority patterns, test a hypothesis against initial evidence, and co-create a peer-reviewed method for comparing California with another country before moving into fuller data collection.

Students will present a concise country comparison board to peers and invited guests, defend their reasoning about why age-of-majority laws differ, and complete a brief compare-and-contrast reflection on California and one other country.
