Using picture cards, sticky notes, and quotes from the grocery store manager and food pantry visit, students work in small groups to sort research evidence into categories such as low-cost foods, places families get food, plant needs, and problems families face. Students physically move cards on chart paper, name patterns they notice, and help the class build a simple empathy map for community families. The teacher models how to tell the difference between something a user said, something we observed, and something we are only guessing.
