📐 Calculating Rate of Change

Students learn to estimate and compare slope by calculating temperature change per hour during heating and cooling phases. Using two selected intervals, they compute rate of change for water and sand and record results in a comparison table. Teacher models how slope connects to kinetic energy changes in particles.
