Empathize
Students will investigate the needs, interests, and prior knowledge of real audience members in order to design a meaningful “Teach Me Something!” presentation grounded in empathy and evidence rather than assumptions.
Days 1 - 2
No activities have been added to this phase yet.
Define
Students will synthesize their audience interview findings into clear, evidence-based problem statements that define how their presentations should serve real user needs. Through pattern analysis, peer critique, and revision, they will craft a strong “How Might We” question and rationale that will guide ideation in the next phase.
Days 3 - 4
No activities have been added to this phase yet.
Ideate
Students will generate a wide range of user-centered solutions for their “Teach Me Something!” presentations and festival booths, then narrow to the strongest concepts using evidence from real audience interviews. Through structured brainstorming, creative thinking routines, and feedback cycles, students will produce annotated concept sketches that clearly connect design choices to specific user needs before moving into prototyping.
Days 5 - 6
No activities have been added to this phase yet.
Prototype
Students will build and test low- and mid-fidelity versions of their multimedia presentations and interactive booth elements, gather structured feedback from real users and peers, and revise their work based on documented evidence before moving into final testing and exhibition.
Days 7 - 8
No activities have been added to this phase yet.
Test/Present
Students will validate their refined presentations and interactive booths with new users, document feedback-driven revisions, and publicly present their design journey and multimedia-enhanced solutions at the Teach Me Festival and Public Speaking Showcase.
