Teams draft a focused How Might We statement and a 1-paragraph rationale citing at least three user quotes. The statement must name a specific user group, articulate a core need, and avoid embedding a solution. Teams align their criteria and constraints from the systems sketch to the statement.

Preparation (2 items)
- Prepare large sheets of paper and markers for each team to use for listing user groups and quotes.
- Create a visual anchor chart that explains what a How Might We statement includes: user group, core need, and no solution.
Student-facing instructions
In your teams, you'll use markers and paper to write down what people in your community said when you talked to them. Together, choose one group of people to focus on and write a How Might We statement about what they need. Remember not to say how you'll solve it yet! Then, make a drawing to share what your statement is about with the class.
