Using their own approved research question from Phase 1, students complete a structured methodology template in their Investigation Notebook. They identify independent, dependent, and controlled variables; select a thermometer or calorimeter; list materials (with units such as g, °C, J); outline safety considerations; and justify why their chosen tool fits their question.
