Students will launch the Renaissance investigation by experiencing a puzzling contrast between Medieval and Renaissance art, generating and refining focused research questions about how Renaissance artists shaped cultural identity, and drafting a hypothesis that will guide their individual research notebook and future debate position.

Students will design a systematic investigation plan to answer their Renaissance research question by selecting an appropriate methodology, identifying sources and variables, outlining detailed data collection procedures, and revising their plan through structured peer review before moving into evidence collection.

Students will systematically gather and document evidence about how selected Renaissance artists shaped cultural identity, following their approved methodology plans. They will collect visual, textual, and contextual data in organized research logs, conduct mid-process quality checks, and complete a structured methodology gate before moving into analysis.

Students will analyze their Renaissance artist research by creating visualizations, identifying patterns and anomalies, and interpreting how their evidence answers their investigable question about cultural identity. They will engage in structured peer critique, revise their interpretations, and demonstrate their reasoning in a student-led debate on Renaissance art’s impact on modern culture.

Students will draw evidence-based conclusions about how Renaissance art changed culture and continues to shape modern society, explicitly acknowledge limitations in their investigation, generate new research questions, and present their findings during a Virtual Art Fair and live debate panel.
