Empathize
Students will launch the poetry analysis project by engaging in a Poetry Escape Room, then begin empathizing with authentic audiences for their future library poetry night. Through guided analysis of poems, adaptations, and historical source texts, students will practice close reading and begin gathering insight into how different readers interpret and experience poetry. They will conduct initial user interviews and create empathy maps to understand how to design meaningful multimedia poetry analyses for a real community audience.
