Students will launch the project by engaging in a live controversy, closely analyzing how authors reveal perspective through word choice, and crafting an initial arguable claim in response to the essential question: How do authors reveal their perspective through their word choice?

Students will gather, evaluate, and compare textual evidence from multiple authors on the same topic in order to determine how word choice reveals perspective. Through close reading, collaborative analysis, and structured peer critique, students will build a strong evidence base to support their upcoming written and visual arguments.

Students will construct and refine a comparative argument explaining how authors reveal perspective through word choice, using textual evidence, counterarguments, and peer critique to strengthen a formal Evidence Brief and prepare for the upcoming gallery defense.

Students will publicly defend their analysis of how authors reveal perspective through word choice by presenting their Evidence Briefs and Gallery Posters, engaging in a live comparative panel, and responding to audience challenges using precise textual evidence and academic vocabulary.
