Empathize
Students will launch the Justice Architect Project by connecting fantasy conflicts to real-world injustices, practicing empathy research skills, and gathering authentic user perspectives to understand how real people experience the issues mirrored in their novels.
Days 1 - 3
No activities have been added to this phase yet.
Define
Students will synthesize insights from their empathy interviews and research to define a clear, evidence-based problem statement that connects a fantasy injustice to a real-world social injustice. They will analyze patterns, clarify root causes, draft and revise a one-sentence problem statement, and prepare a museum-ready placard that will guide later ideation and prototyping.
Days 4 - 6

Ideate
Students will generate and refine multiple human-centered solutions that address their defined real-world injustice, using brainstorming protocols, empathy tools, and structured feedback to move from many ideas to one strong, user-focused concept ready for prototyping.
Days 7 - 10
No activities have been added to this phase yet.
Prototype
Students will build and refine testable prototypes of their real-world injustice solutions, create physical models to include in their Shadow Boxes, gather peer and limited user feedback, and document at least one clear iteration before moving to final testing and exhibition.
Days 11 - 15

Test/Present
Students will test their Shadow Box solutions with authentic users, revise based on feedback, and present their final museum exhibit and Blueprint for Change essay to families, peers, and community partners during an Open House exhibition.
