Board Game Concepts
Students work in small groups to brainstorm a set of board game concepts inspired by United States history from the 1780s to 1861. They collect brief sources and cite evidence to ground their ideas, sketch initial visuals or storyboards, and create a Feasibility/Impact matrix evaluating playability, historical alignment, and player experience. Each group selects a Top 3 concepts with written rationales explaining how these ideas meet historical accuracy, engagement, and accessibility. Groups also include a simple empathy artifact (such as a one-page player persona) and outline a plan for quick peer feedback in future testing. Emphasis is placed on iteration, user-centered design, and framing decisions around player benefits; feedback from peers will inform refinements in later phases.
