Purpose

Your basketball camp is a hands-on community initiative that seamlessly integrates athletic skills with socio-emotional growth. By organizing and facilitating a space where young learners can engage in sport, you are not only sharing your passion for basketball but actively strengthening community ties in San Diego. Learning goals

Your learning goals include developing effective communication and collaboration skills by working with community partners and peers, enhancing content expertise in basketball coaching, and nurturing self-directed learning through feedback from coaches and participants. You'll practice critical thinking as you design and execute your basketball camp, aiming to foster community and engagement. Products

Create a digital portfolio composed of instructional videos that focus on essential basketball skills and drills, capturing footage from your camp and training sessions. Design a multimedia collage of pictures and videos from the camp that highlights the life lessons basketball has taught you, and the community impact of your project. Develop a presentation that you can exhibit on the basketball court, showing real-time footage, interviews, and participant feedback to underscore your project's purpose and achievements.

Launch

Organize a community basketball showcase event at the local gym or basketball court in San Diego. Invite children, teachers, local coaches, and families to participate in friendly matches and skills demonstrations.
