The project aims to engage students in a comprehensive exploration of the Battle of Stalingrad, encouraging them to work collaboratively to create a detailed model using miniature soldiers and boxes, while integrating research and storytelling to deepen their understanding of historical events. This hands-on experience helps students develop competencies such as collaboration, effective communication, and critical thinking, by enabling them to co-design the project, integrate various research sources, and present their findings through exhibitions and reflection sessions. Students will collaboratively design a scale model of the Battle of Stalingrad, incorporating historical research to understand the strategies, impacts, and significance of the event. They will engage in effective communication by presenting their findings and perspectives through a peer-reviewed exhibition and in-class presentation. The project will develop critical thinking by requiring innovative approaches to illustrate the human and infrastructural aftermath of the battle and reflect on its lessons for modern conflict resolution. Students will create a detailed diorama of the Battle of Stalingrad, integrating research findings and model construction to represent key strategies, impacts, and historical significance. Alongside the physical model, students will produce written narratives and reflections discussing the challenges faced by soldiers and civilians, and the broader implications on modern warfare. To kick off the project, students will participate in a group brainstorming session where they explore initial ideas and themes related to the Battle of Stalingrad. They will share their thoughts and collaborate on determining key aspects of the battle they want to focus on, such as strategies and human impacts. This session will include an overview by the teachers about the battle's significance in World War II, followed by a guided discussion around the essential questions. Students will then form teams, set project goals, and start planning their learning journey with each team member taking on roles that suit their strengths and interests.

Invite community members, parents, and local history experts to attend a presentation and discussion event where students showcase their completed models and accompanying research. Each group, with the support of two teachers, will present their findings, articulate the emotional effects of war, and demonstrate the collaborative process they engaged in. The exhibition will include visual displays, written narratives, and oral presentations, providing an opportunity for students to engage visitors through interactive storytelling and Q&A sessions.
