Students will explore historical examples of community impacts from past Olympic events, engage with local community testimonies, and utilize insights from the landscape architect mentor to understand user needs and challenges, forming a foundation for designing solutions that prioritize minimizing negative impacts on community members.

Students will analyze the impacts of previous Olympic events on communities, identify specific environmental challenges related to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, and articulate these as problems to be addressed through sustainable green space solutions.

Students will collaborate in teams to brainstorm diverse and imaginative eco-friendly solutions for the Olympic venues, guided by insights from the landscape architect mentor, focusing on meaningful integration of sustainability principles in their designs.

Students will collaborate to create low-fidelity prototype models of eco-friendly urban gardens using recyclable materials to bring their design ideas to life, while integrating feedback from the landscape architect and peers to refine their solutions and prepare for the testing phase.

Students will present their eco-friendly urban garden models to peers, community members, and the landscape architect mentor to gather feedback, refine their designs, and document improvements to better reduce waste and promote environmental health around the 2028 Olympic venues.
