Students will collaboratively brainstorm and construct probing open-ended questions rooted in initial observations of case materials, establishing a foundation for strategic inquiries that will guide subsequent evidence-gathering and argument formulation throughout the project.

Students will conduct thorough research using case files, gather evidence, interview witnesses, collaborate with legal researchers, and analyze texts and data to prepare legal arguments and strategies for their respective prosecution and defense teams.

Students will synthesize their research to develop compelling legal arguments and detailed presentation outlines for their assigned roles, collaboratively refining their strategies in preparation for the mock trial showcase.

Students will present their preliminary legal arguments and evidence findings to classmates, engage in structured discussions facilitated by the law student to exchange feedback and perspectives, and collaboratively refine their strategies for the upcoming trial showcase.

Students will engage in a reflective journaling session to analyze the trial outcomes, evaluate the effectiveness of their rhetorical and legal strategies, and collaboratively discuss insights and areas for improvement prior to initiating action based on their reflections.

Students will conduct a full mock trial using real court procedures to apply their research, arguments, and rhetorical skills learned during the project, while reflecting on their personal growth and teamwork in presenting their case to invited community members.
