Products

Throughout the project, students will create detailed written legal briefs and argumentative essays pulling from evidence and case precedent. By the end, they will execute a formal mock trial adhering to real court procedures. Post-trial, students will compile a reflective journal encompassing their strategic development and personal growth insights, which will be showcased alongside their trial performance during the 'Trial Showcase Day.'

Launch

Begin with a dynamic "Trial Strategy Seminar," led by a law student who introduces key legal concepts and court strategies. After this introduction, students immediately transition into small group breakouts, each tasked with developing preliminary arguments for a given legal scenario. This active session sets the stage for students to collaboratively explore legal reasoning, stimulating their curiosity and setting the tone for the intricate mock trial project ahead.

Exhibition

Invite family, friends, and local community members to attend the 'Trial Showcase Day,' where students will exhibit their learning by conducting the formal mock trial. Following the trial, conduct a post-trial question-and-answer session with the law student and student participants, allowing guests to engage with the intricacies of legal processes and the students' analytical findings. Serve refreshments and provide reflection journals for guests to write feedback, fostering a supportive atmosphere and amplifying student voices in discussions about the trial’s impact.
