Students will observe a safe teacher-led elephant toothpaste demonstration, connect the phenomenon to prior science experiences, and define an initial engineering challenge focused on safely controlling foam or thermal energy.

Students will apply engineering criteria, research evidence, safety procedures, quantitative testing, peer critique, and revision to develop a controlled elephant toothpaste device and evidence for their final slideshow.

Students will present, defend, revise, and reflect on their elephant toothpaste engineering products during a classroom science showcase.
