Students will launch the investigation by observing an expert-guided, teacher-handled borax crystal demonstration, generating investigable questions, and previewing the video and photo-board products.

Students will consult an experienced community partner, refine a testable crystal-growth question and hypothesis, and create a peer-reviewed methodology plan for safely shaping, suspending, and documenting a pipe-cleaner scaffold.

Students will safely complete the crystal-growing setup, gather before-and-after evidence, analyze patterns and limitations, and create a team photo board and individual video draft.

Students will present and defend their borax crystal investigation findings to an authentic audience, use peer and community-partner feedback to make final revisions, and reflect on evidence, safety, challenges, and collaboration.
