Students will launch the investigation by analyzing an anonymized medication-interaction case with a pharmacist, recording evidence and uncertainty, and developing an initial research question about a chosen drug’s uses, effects, and safety trade-offs.

Students will select a drug, refine a focused safety and trade-offs question, evaluate potential sources, and produce an approved investigation plan for their research paper, exhibit, and multimedia teach-back.

Students will systematically gather, compare, paraphrase, and cite evidence about a chosen drug, then use two rounds of peer critique to strengthen an individual research record and preliminary paper sections before a graded milestone checkpoint.

Students will analyze patterns, contradictions, and limitations across their evidence; develop warranted conclusions about a chosen drug’s benefits and risks; and revise their research papers, exhibits, and multimedia teach-backs through two rounds of peer critique before the Know the Trade-Offs Celebration.

Students will present evidence-based drug research to an authentic audience, respond empathetically to questions, evaluate peer exhibits, make a final evidence-based revision, and reflect on how their understanding of drug safety and trade-offs has changed.
