Students will launch the project by constructing a living timeline, proposing initial cause-and-effect connections among the three periods, and learning how credible evidence will support their eventual public argument.

Students will take and test an initial position on whether the Italian Renaissance, Age of Exploration, and Reformation created more liberation or inequality, then build a preliminary cause-and-effect timeline and evidence-based claim.

Students will investigate competing historical perspectives, evaluate source credibility, and organize confirming and challenging evidence in individual evidence logs. They will use this research to produce a cited team timeline that traces connections among the Italian Renaissance, Age of Exploration, and Reformation and prepares them for argument construction in the next phase.

Students will transform their researched evidence into a defensible three-era argument, test its logic through peer and expert critique, revise inaccuracies and weak connections, and rehearse an evidence-based oral defense.

Students will publicly present, defend, and reflect on their final evidence-based historical arguments at the Crossroads of Change Celebration.
