Launch
Students will experience animal survival strategies through movement and camouflage challenges, record initial evidence, learn foundational adaptation vocabulary, and refine a curiosity question that will guide later investigation and diorama design.
Days 1 - 2
Question & Plan
Question & Plan
Students will select an animal and habitat, develop an investigable question and hypothesis, compare evidence-gathering methods, and submit a peer-reviewed investigation plan and preliminary diorama sketch.
Days 3 - 5
Gather Evidence
Gather Evidence
Students will systematically gather, classify, and trace evidence from books, video, prior observations, and a veterinary professional. They will use their documented findings to create an evidence matrix and begin building labeled diorama features that accurately represent animal survival in a particular habitat.
Days 6 - 8
Analyze & Revise
Analyze & Revise
Students will analyze evidence for patterns and limitations, construct survival claims, and use repeated peer feedback to revise their dioramas, labels, speaking cards, and investigation notebooks before the Nature Survival Gallery Share.
Days 9 - 11
Showcase
Showcase
Students will present and defend their evidence-based habitat dioramas during a Nature Survival Gallery Share, respond to audience questions, exchange feedback, and complete a photo-supported oral reflection.
