Students will launch the sanctions inquiry by analyzing a real dataset, testing first claims with historical trade-route evidence, and setting up evidence and reflection routines that will guide later argument and model-building work.

Students will examine competing claims about sanctions, compare historical and modern economic exchange systems, test early evidence, and draft an initial position statement that previews what evidence and counterevidence they expect to use.

Students will gather quantitative and source-based evidence about sanctions, test their initial positions against competing perspectives, organize confirming and disconfirming evidence, and revise their policy direction using data, credibility checks, and peer critique.

Students will turn their research and statistics into a defensible sanctions-policy argument by writing clear claims, warrants, counterarguments, and rebuttals, then revising their recommendation through feedback and reflection.

Students will strengthen their sanctions policy arguments through critique, revision, rehearsal, and final preparation for the public hearing and campaign gallery. They will use evidence logs, peer questioning, source checks, and model-based explanation practice to improve clarity, credibility, and defense of their recommendation.

Students will present their final sanctions recommendations and economic-system models to an authentic audience, defend their reasoning with historical and statistical evidence, receive public feedback, and complete a final reflection that documents growth in confidence, persistence, and use of data.
