Launch
Launch
Students will launch the investigation by analyzing global warming media, testing ideas at mini museum stations, and recording evidence-based questions about waste, renewable energy, water, land, and habitats. They will use early observations and peer feedback to choose a promising problem for deeper investigation in the next phase.
Days 1 - 2
Question & Hypothesis
Question & Hypothesis
Students will turn their launch curiosities into a focused investigation plan by refining a class question, writing a testable hypothesis, and selecting a simple method for collecting trustworthy evidence about waste, renewable energy, water, or habitats.
Days 3 - 6
Collect & Verify
Collect & Verify
Students will carry out their planned investigations, record traceable evidence from sorting, renewable energy, and habitat-related tasks, and verify the quality of their data through midpoint checks, peer critique, and revision of methods before moving into analysis.
Days 7 - 10
Analyze & Present
Analyze & Present
Students will analyze investigation evidence from sorting records, solar model tests, and habitat or partner observations; create museum-ready visuals and claims; test their reasoning through peer critique; and finalize evidence-based conclusions, limitations, and next-step questions for their interactive exhibit station.
Days 11 - 14
Showcase
Showcase
Students will present their interactive museum stations to families and community partners, defend their community solution with evidence from notebooks, models, and field observations, respond to audience questions, and complete a brief end-of-project reflection about what they checked, what they did not check, and what they would investigate next.
