Students will turn an outbreak mystery into a disciplined investigation by refining a testable question, selecting modeling methods, comparing viral strain evidence, and building an evidence-traceable workflow for diagnosis, treatment, mitigation, and prevention before major data collection begins.

Students will run repeated outbreak-model trials, document viral evidence systematically, check the quality of their methods and data, and use early patterns to draft scientifically grounded diagnostic logic for their response portfolio.

Students will analyze outbreak evidence from their simulations and research notes, build clear data visualizations, test competing explanations, and use that evidence to revise their diagnosis, treatment, mitigation, and prevention recommendations into a polished public health briefing package.

Students will present and defend their outbreak response recommendations to authentic public health audiences, then use audience feedback and an IKE reflection to evaluate the strength of their evidence, communication, and final decision-making.
