Students will launch the Evaluate & Judge project by testing how first impressions change when clearer criteria and stronger evidence are introduced. They will begin a reflection notebook, practice collaborative discussion routines, and complete an early performance checkpoint that surfaces baseline strengths in judgment, evidence use, and paragraph writing.

Students will investigate how first impressions shift when they test them against criteria and emerging evidence. They will move from dramatic scenario analysis to a focused investigable question, a working hypothesis, and a criteria-based methodology plan for collecting stronger evidence in the next phase.

Students will gather, annotate, and test evidence records against their criteria so they can decide whether their current judgment is defensible, incomplete, or in need of revision.

Students will analyze patterns and anomalies in their evidence, test their judgments through structured discussion, revise a clear Evaluate & Judge paragraph, and prepare an evidence board with an oral defense that ties criteria, values, and textual evidence to a defensible conclusion.

Students will present their final evidence-based judgments to an authentic audience through a Judgment Gallery Walk, defend their conclusions orally, and capture a brief reflection on how criteria, evidence, and values shaped their final decision.
