Students will launch the investigation by comparing maps, images, and short source excerpts to notice shifts in borders, power, and identity, then begin a slide-based inquiry with an initial evidence-backed claim and a first round of peer feedback and revision.

Students will compare historical and modern maps, images, and short source excerpts to generate a puzzling question about regional change, draft a testable historical hypothesis, and choose an evidence plan for investigating shifts in power, borders, and identity.

Students will gather and document credible historical evidence connected to their investigable question, annotate visual and written sources for how they show change over time, and complete a midpoint quality check on whether their evidence is traceable, relevant, and strong enough to support a defensible claim.

Students will analyze patterns and anomalies in their collected historical evidence, test interpretations with peers, present an in-progress slide deck in rotating stations, and revise one slide using peer evaluator feedback before the final showcase.

Students will present their final slide-based investigation in a rotating-station showcase, receive peer evaluator feedback on how well their evidence explains regional change, and complete a brief source-based reflection on what they learned about using evidence to explain change over time.
