Students will launch the ocean investigation by noticing patterns across poems, artworks, tools, and animal clues, then generate one investigable question about why people explore the sea and record it for the next phase.

Students will analyze ocean poems, artworks, and informational texts to form one investigable question about why people explore the sea, draft a simple hypothesis, and create a traceable evidence-collection plan in their Ocean Investigation Notebook that they improve through peer feedback and teacher review.

Students will organize evidence from ocean texts and artworks, analyze patterns in why artists and scientists explore the sea, and turn their findings into revised museum display pieces with captions, labeled drawings, and evidence-based explanations ready for the gallery walk.

Students will present their Seas of Wonder museum display to families and community guests, use evidence from texts and observations to answer why people explore the sea, and add a final reflection showing how their thinking grew across the project.
