Students will launch the sea-creature wall panel project by examining the audience and challenge, then co-create a brief set of inquiry questions, an end-user overview, and a challenge definition that will guide later research and design work.
Day 1
Examine
Examine
Students will research a chosen sea creature across class texts, images, and media, compare evidence from multiple sources, and turn that research into an evidence-based explanation of the challenge and a proposed wall-panel direction for the aquarium education team.
Days 2 - 4
Engineer
Engineer
Students will use evidence they gathered earlier to study effective exhibit models, predict how a family-friendly design choice will help viewers, and plan and revise a sea-creature wall panel draft for the aquarium education team.
Days 5 - 6
Do
Do
Students will test their sea-creature wall panel with classmates acting as family visitors, collect quick evidence about clarity and usefulness, and record what the results show about how well their design meets the aquarium team's needs.
Day 7
Share
Share
Students will present the impact of their sea-creature wall panel work by briefly sharing evidence-based design choices and completing a concise reflection on how they grew as researchers, partners, and museum exhibit designers for a real audience.
