Students will investigate survival patterns in a disaster simulation, document evidence in a research notebook, analyze which choices most often lead to survival or failure, and refine a focused survival question and hypothesis for a myth-inspired suspense story.

Students will compare myth and case-study source options, design a focused evidence-gathering method, test the strength of their plans through peer critique, and finalize a research-ready checklist and story direction for investigating whether their character can survive.

Students will collect traceable evidence from myths, case studies, simulations, and mentor texts so they can support believable survival decisions and purposeful suspense writing in their stories.

Students will organize and interpret their collected evidence, test the strength of their survival claim against contradictions, and turn research patterns into a story plan that uses suspense and dialogue purposefully.

Students will finalize evidence-based suspense narratives, test their conclusions through critique, turn polished drafts into hand-stitched books, and share their finished work with a public audience while explaining how evidence shaped survival decisions and what uncertainties remain.

Students will present their hand-stitched suspense storybooks to an authentic audience, explain how evidence shaped their survival conclusions, gather and analyze feedback from peers and community readers, and reflect on the strengths and limits of their investigation and writing choices.
