Launch
Launch
Students will launch the project by experiencing how kicks, rolls, and surfaces change a ball’s motion with a community-connected challenge, then organize first observations and user-centered questions that will guide later research, empathy work, and game design.
Days 1 - 2
Research & Plan
Research & Plan
Students will observe and interview younger players, study how force, distance, and surfaces change ball motion, and turn those findings into a clear empathy artifact and design brief for an inclusive kick-and-roll game.
Days 3 - 8
Ideate & Prototype
Ideate & Prototype
Students will turn empathy notes and force-and-motion investigation evidence into a clear design brief, sketch several different inclusive kick-and-roll game ideas, build quick low-tech prototypes, test them with peers, and complete two revision cycles before a milestone prototype check.
Days 9 - 13
Test & Present
Test & Present
Students will refine and validate their inclusive kick-and-roll game kits with new users, gather final force-and-motion evidence, revise based on peer and partner feedback, and prepare a clear presentation that explains how user needs and science evidence shaped their design decisions.
Days 14 - 18
Showcase
Showcase
Students will present their inclusive kick-and-roll game kits and Motion Makers Festival boards to younger children and community partners, explain force-and-motion evidence through live demonstrations, and complete a final reflection on how user feedback and testing changed their design and teamwork.
