Using interview notes, public data, neighborhood maps, and reporting, students build a cause-and-effect explanation of the casino debate that goes beyond simple pro/con lists. They identify economic, political, geographic, and social factors shaping the conflict, test whether evidence shows correlation or stronger causal reasoning, and draft a claim about the main drivers of the challenge. After a structured peer critique with 2 classmates, students revise their analysis for clarity and evidence alignment.
