🗣️ Civil Rights Claims Warm-Up

Students closely read short excerpts from “I Have a Dream,” “Letter from Birmingham Jail,” and “Remarks on the Assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.” to identify claim, tone, and call-to-action moves. The class charts how each speaker positions an audience toward change, then students write one transferable persuasion move they could use in their own issue statement.
