Students examine object photos and primary-source images prepared with the museum or historical society and discuss what each item might reveal about culture, work, trade, or daily life. In pairs, they draft short museum-style labels naming the object, what evidence they see, and one inference they can defend. The class discusses how artifacts can answer some questions but not all.
