Students sort notes from informational texts, interview quotes, and empathy findings into color-coded categories such as needs, barriers, causes, and hopes. Using a class-modeled sentence frame and chart paper or sticky notes, they combine patterns from at least three pieces of evidence into a clear community problem statement for their project folder. The teacher conferences briefly with students to check that claims match the research.
