Students examine short mentor examples of scientific comics, infographics, and mini presentations, then discuss how each piece uses visuals, sequencing, vocabulary, and digital display choices to make complex science understandable for younger readers. Hawken US faculty respond as an authentic audience panel, naming what would make the explanations clearer and more memorable for 5th graders. The class closes by unpacking the driving question, final showcase expectations, and the project rubric strands for clarity, accuracy, and audience appeal.
