Students respond to controversial policy statements by physically placing themselves on a continuum, then cite one headline, map, bill excerpt, or testimony clip from the earlier gallery materials to justify their placement. The class records patterns in a shared board chart under freedom, equality, and safety to surface disagreement and possible policy topics. Students leave with a ranked list of issue options and a tentative stance.
