📘 Mock Congress Roadmap

Critical Thinker Effective Communicator Engaged Citizen CL.C&G.2.1 CL.B.1.1 CL.G.1.1 Submission Required

Using sample bills, a level-of-government chart, and a CER mini-model, students examine how national, state, and local governments respond differently to the same issue and how a bill is structured with defined terms, evidence, and actions. In pairs, they sort 6 policy actions by correct government authority, then draft a short claim map naming an initial issue, one possible policy claim, and one anticipated counterargument. The session closes with the required roundtable reflection: one policy idea that changed, one evidence source that strengthened thinking, and one question about freedom, equality, and safety.
