Students begin with short shelter dog videos, sample adoption stories, and a brief message from a shelter veterinarian or vet technician about breed traits, inherited characteristics, health needs, and costs such as surgeries, genetic testing, and adoption fees. They rotate through quick viewing and discussion prompts, scan a model QR code, and try a sample adopter personality quiz to notice how evidence can shape responsible matching. Each student completes a brief empathy capture with one dog need, one adopter need, and one question to investigate during shelter volunteering.
