🧭 Orange County Map Feature Mini-Lesson

Using a large county map, mentor atlas pages, and symbol cards, the class reviews how labels, legends, symbols, and direction words make a map clear for families and the parks ranger. Students practice placing 4-5 key features on a shared example and check whether the legend matches the symbols they chose. This just-in-time lesson prepares students to begin drafting their own posters and atlas pages.
