Students examine a mini-set of neighborhood materials including a CTA ridership chart, a historical redlining or investment map, a current business or park map, and a short community story. Using a teacher-provided note catcher, they practice separating observation, inference, and claim while tracing how transit, public space, and history connect. The class builds a shared evidence wall to model how strong neighborhood analysis uses quantitative and qualitative sources together.
