🧠 Warrants and Counterclaims Workshop

Using their evidence charts from earlier phases, students examine a teacher-modeled paragraph built from Letter from Birmingham Jail and a mental health disparity data visual, then identify what makes the warrant explicit rather than implied. They revise their own thesis, one body paragraph, and one counterargument-rebuttal section using a shared argument checklist focused on reasoning, concession, and citation moves. Students leave with a working draft section that directly connects injustice to psychological well-being.
