Students will launch the project by investigating clues from a familiar read-aloud, helping build a shared understanding of what makes a clear story retell and what evidence they will collect in later phases.

Students will investigate a short classroom mystery, retell what happened in sequence, and use story evidence to form questions, a simple hypothesis, and a peer-checked plan for collecting evidence about routines and choices.
Days 2 - 5
Analyze & Present
Analyze & Present
Students will organize story evidence from the shared read-aloud, analyze which details matter most for a clear retell, revise their retell artifacts through peer critique, and prepare a polished retell product that explains the characters, setting, problem, important events, and ending in order.
Days 6 - 9
Showcase
Showcase
Students will share their completed story retell products with an authentic audience, use story evidence and sequence language during presentation, and reflect briefly on what made their retelling clear and complete.
