🧩 Fraction Match-Up Stations

Content Expertise Critical Thinking & Problem Solving Effective Communication CCSS.Math.Content.3.NF.A.1 CCSS.Math.Content.3.NF.A.3 3.NF.A.3 Submission Required

Pairs rotate through fast stations using paper strips, paper circles, and paper rectangles partitioned into halves, thirds, fourths, sixths, and eighths. At each station, partners build or check equal parts, compare two fractions with the same numerator or same denominator, and record which fraction is larger or smaller with a quick sketch and math words on a recording card. After each station, partners complete a brief check by identifying one model detail to revise before moving on, then the class closes with a two-minute circle reflection using sentence stems about what part of their paper project already shows fractions clearly and what they will improve next.
