🧭 Proposal Claim Ladder

Using their Madera research notes, students study a teacher-modeled community proposal brief excerpt and identify the main claim, 2-3 sub-claims, and the warrant language that links evidence to action. They then build their own claim ladder on a shared organizer, naming the community issue, why action is needed, and how identity, privilege, and power shape the problem. The lesson highlights arguable wording, not summary, and prepares students to turn gathered evidence into a structured proposal.
