Students examine a short set of mixed materials about one Madera issue, including a news excerpt, a chart, and a testimonial, and classify each as strong, limited, or not yet usable for argument. They record source type, claim supported, credibility questions, and what more they would need before trusting it. This creates the evidence log structure they will use in the next phase.
