Teams build an empathy artifact with sections for needs, barriers, questions, and evidence using interview notes, historical sources, and survey data. Students give feedback to 2 peers, receive feedback, and revise by removing unsupported claims and adding direct quotes or numbers. The teacher reviews each team's completed map as a milestone gate before teams move into problem framing next phase.
