The class studies strong and weak examples from the Student Weather Investigation Notebook to notice what makes temperature, wind, cloud cover, and precipitation records traceable. Students practice using the class symbols, headings, dates, and evidence notes on a short sample set, then agree on two method checks to use during the week. This mini-lesson adds science vocabulary such as observation, pattern, evidence, and anomaly right before students collect the next round of data.
