🌦️ Forecast Kickoff Station

Students rotate through the classroom weather station to observe temperature, wind, cloud cover, and precipitation using picture charts, simple tools, and a weather notebook page. After making an initial prediction for recess, arrival, or dismissal, they watch a Mid-Hudson Valley TV weather reporter forecast clip and compare what matches, what is different, and what new evidence changes their thinking. The class closes by naming the driving question and sharing one weather-safety recommendation backed by one observed detail.
